Description
Reconcile and approve 940s and 941 returns for all companies. Reconcile and approve all tax returns related to all state and local jurisdictions. Document and maintain all internal payroll tax and garnishment system processes. Mentor and provide leadership to payroll analysts. Maintain best practices for payroll tax compliance and implement new procedures as needed. Responsible for preparation and reconciliation of payroll journal entries and related G/L accounts. Reconcile and approve payroll tax liability between the payroll system and the tax filing vendor. Provide supporting documentation for payroll tax drafts to Treasury by the tax filing vendor. Reconcile wages for W2s. Setup new unit taxation tables in payroll system. Maintain appropriate tax rates in payroll system. Reconcile other compensation for year-end entry for W2 purposes. Assists in the preparation of audit reports and schedules. Responsible to maintain relationship and reporting requirements with the W2 print/distribution vendor. Oversee W2 corrections for employees and IRS. Research and resolve IRS notices. Oversee the garnishment processing for all related company entities. Research and/or implement any new and/or pending legislation regarding payroll.
Requirements
Undergraduate degree or CPP. Minimum seven years of payroll processing experience. Three to five years of Management Experience. Payroll processing, payroll tax preparation, and W2 filings. Three to five years of Payroll Tax. Experience with payroll system conversions.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS or ABILITIES:
Experience using Microsoft Office product suite. Strong technical, analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills. Strong organization skills with great attention to detail. Must have the ability to work in a fast paced environment. Oracle ERP system experience preferred
